Effective tree and brush killer!

Safety caution - User should wear nitrile gloves, just in case you get a drop on yourself. Do on a non-windy day too and when it isn't going to rain. You do need to be very careful applying so that you only get if on what fresh woody plant cut you wish to kill over that entire surface.What you apply it too, if freshly cut to absorb into roots will die. Take your time and don't spill on your self or make contact with another plant or lawn. If animals in your yard, kennel or put in house until absorbed by stem, or woody plant growth. Highly toxic per warnings. This isn't your normal watered down garden store product. Will last me many years in a suburban environment! Best applied last morning I think after dew is gone and on a sunny day for the plant stem to absorb into root.Worked great on killing elm sprout ups and annoying fruit tree spouts in lawn. Takes time to cut each and every sprout and apply but worth the effort. Trimming and spraying never worked for over 10 years, this works quickly. Will kill what sprouts up after you cut down a tree! Just get new sprouts when they come up and down mow them so you get enough growth to get a substantial enough growth to get a drop on it.Just be smart about it and recap bottle and remove and clean dispenser pull cap after each use. Simple, takes time, and a degree of care and respect for chemical and environment and it should be safe and very effective!Do not have around any minors or where pets can get at due to toxicity!!

I will continue to update this review as it progresses. I cut two trees down and immediately sprayed the stump with the chemical. The pictures are the stump after 3 weeks.

If you want to get rid of this nuisance plant once and for all, try this product ! If you have tried clipping , digging , pruning etc only to have the "suckers" from the still buried root system pop up all over your yard as if it's giving you the defiant middle finger , this is what you want ! There are several ways to apply this but just slash or drill into the thickest part of the plant and apply TORDON into the cut. I make several cuts in various places on the plant to make sure this thing is doomed. Ignore the "suckers" ( they look like young trees) and go for the main body ;once the TORDON takes hold , the whole plant root and all is going down and you will be rewarded with the gratifying sight of seeing the "suckers" shriveling and wilting like rotten celery on a hot sidewalk.If you have several bushes of Ailanthus , you can clip the branches off and drop TORDON into the top of the cuts of each--be patient and in a day or two the plant is dead. Final word of advice : be sure to wear good quality protective gloves and eye/face protection.

I love this herbicide. It does what it is suppose to do, kill the stump.My neighbor is a special snowflake. She let a weed tree sprout up, in it's growth it knocked over the fence between our properties. It also knocked over a retaining wall. So to keep her vicious dogs away from my kids my husband and I installed a new fence. Weed tree was cut down this was applied to the stump, weed tree did not come back. Hooray!All was well until I noticed another weed tree coming up over the 6 foot privacy fence my husband and I had installed. CRAP! Crazy neighbor was told all she had to do was inform me that she saw a tree sapling and I'd take care of it. When the original weed tree knocked over the property line retaining wall it tipped over into my yard so fence could not go up on the property line as a result there is a crappy chain link fence on neighbor's side of the property line (was used to contain her dogs while the fence went up, she now won't or can't get rid of it) and then 6 inches into my yard a wood fence. That is a huge gap, and I would of been totally responsible for the gap (it is technically mine) if I was made aware of issues. So onto the new weed tree sapling. It was well over 6 feet in height when I first saw it. I cut just the top branches of that sapling and dripped some Tordon onto the sapling's cut branches. Sapling died, fence saved, crazy neighbor relationship salvaged, Tordon saved the day!
This is a killer!

This stuff is lethal! Use with care but I have found nothing as effective on privit, greenbriar, black locust and other hard to kill stumps. A quick spray on a fresh cut stump and that sucker is dead! No sprouting at all. You do have to be extremely careful around desirable plants. it is carried down into the roots and is peresistant for a year or more so probably not a good idea to use on undesirables imbedded in a good shrub like clematis mixed in forsythia or spirea.
Keeps Trees and Brush for trying to regrow

Farmer recommended this too me. "Paint blue stuff on stump after you cut trees down." Found it on . Works great. Prevents regrowth. Does not rot out stumps. Apply with drip lid on fresh cut. will keep trees and brush from regrowing.
Strong enough to kill trees

If you have a tree stump or bushes that you don't want you will really like this product. Just don't use it anywhere close to what you want to keep. I put some close to Ringwood trees and we are losing two. We are also loading some bushes that I wanted to keep. If this is strong enough to kill live trees think before you use it. Protect yourself so you don't get even a drop in yourself.

Killed?em dead. Had a few tree sprout up between my fence and the neighbors. I knew if I let them grow they would ruin my fence. I claimed a ladder and clipped as many branches as I count and applied Tordon RTU. I thought it was probably a waste since I could not get to all the branches. I squirted some down around the roots. Several days later I noticed that the leaves on the branches I could not reach have died. It looks like the trees are dead between the fences. I may squirt some more for extra measure.
This is the "big guns" for invasive trumpet vine in Texas.

This is one of the only things that will kill the invasive orange trumpet vine in Texas. You have to cut the vine when it is coming up, then paint it directly on, and sometimes repeat.I use a tiny brush to paint it so it will not get on anything else, because the wretched vines come up all over in the garden and yard, among very wanted plants.Sometimes effective on the invasive privet hedges, too.As these vines have been bedeviling me for many years by coming up in bad places (not just climbing the trees and blooming as they should), this product has been a great joy. Tedious and time-consuming, but I can actually SEE my irises, etc.
Killed a honey locust infestation!

We had a honey locust tree that was cut down by a tree company, who stupidly ground the stump right away. We ended up without about 7000 locust saplings popping up all over our yard and the neighbor's. It was a nightmare. After fighting them and fighting them, I finally dug up and exposed as many large main roots as I could, cut a slit into them, and poured Tordon RTU directly into the heart of the root. Rather savage, I know. But it did the trick. The saplings stopped popping up. Instead of grinding the stump right away, the tree company should have used a product like this to poison the stump, thus poisoning the roots, THEN ground the stump a few weeks later. So if you have honey locust that you're trying to eradicate, keep it in mind.
