Description
SpeedZone Southern EW Broadleaf Herbicide, manufactured by PBI Gordon, is a selective post-emergent weed killer that will control over 83 different weeds in Southern turf grasses and some cool-season grasses. This emulsifiable concentrate product is rainfast within 3 hours and offers visible activity in hours. Total control can be achieved within 7 to 14 days.
SpeedZone Southern EW Broadleaf Herbicide can be used in standard St. Augustine grass, Bermuda grass, Bahia grass, Zoysia grass, and more. It will control common broadleaf weeds such as clover, spurge, dollarweed, and creeping beggarweed.
Step 1:
First, determine which weed(s) you are targeting, the turfgrass type and the square footage of the area to be treated. This is important because if applied in a non-labeled area, SpeedZone Southern EW Herbicide may damage or kill the turf. To calculate square footage, measure and multiply the area length times the width (length x width = square footage). To treat weeds on Kentucky bluegrass, annual bluegrass, annual and perennial ryegrass, tall fescue, red or fine leaf fescues, or bentgrass use 1.5 to 2.2 oz. of SpeedZone Southern EW Broadleaf Herbicide per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft. For bermudagrass, bahiagrass, buffalograss, centipedegrass, seashore paspalum, St. Augustinegrass, and zoysiagrass use 0.7 to 1.5 oz. of product per gallon of water per 1,000 sq. ft.
Step 2:
In a sprayer tank, fill the tank halfway with the required amount of water and then add the proper measured amount of Speedzone Southern EW Broadleaf Herbicide according to your calculations. Mix and fill the rest of the way with the required amount of water and then agitate the sprayer until the product is well-mixed.
Step 3:
Make a uniform application to targeted weeds, being sure not to overspray or overlap and prevent any drift, When using a flat fan nozzle tip, spray the weeds at a suitable height to get even coverage. Moving your arms, such as in a swinging motion, will not give you a uniform spray.
Step 4:
Stay off the treated areas until dry and do not mow until 2 days have passed. Do not water the area for the first 3 hours.
