Dismiss South Herbicide excels in the control of purple nutsedge, as well as the yellow nutsedge, green kyllinga and other sedges, annual grasses and broad-leaf weeds.
The Dismiss South formulation is for warm season turf where purple nutsedge is a problem.
It may be applied in established turf areas including commercial, residential, athletic fields, institutional lawns, golf course roughs and fairways, and commercial sod farms
As a post-emergent, selective herbicide, it combines two active ingredients, Sulfentrazone - 33.33%, Imazethapyr - 6.67%.
Use between 9.5 to 14.4 fluid ounces per acre (minimum of 10 gallons of spray solution per acre for right-of-ways, fence rows, roadsides and 20-175 gallons per acre on turf ). For best results apply Dismiss South in late summer, fall or early spring, making sure the soil is moist. Use the higher rates to extend length of control or on sites with fine soil textures or sites with more than 2% organic matter.
Registered States For Use
Dismiss South is registered for use in the southern states of: AL, AR, FL, GA, KS, LA, MO, MS, NC, NM, OK, SC, TN, TX and VA on warm season turfgrasses, excluding St. Augustine grass. Use the regular Dismiss Herbicide on other states or St. Augustine grass.
How Dismiss South Works
Dismiss South works by an uptake of the roots and shoots of the weeds. It does require the soil to be moist for activation. A surfactant or adjuvant is not recommended due to any discoloration with the high heat or relative humidity.

Dismiss South Herbicide is formulated as a flowable containing 4 lbs. of active ingredient per gallon. The mode of action of Dismiss South Herbicide involves uptake by both weed roots and shoots. Application of Dismiss South Herbicide requires soil moisture for activation. The amount of soil moisture required for activation following the application depends on existing soil moisture, organic matter content and soil texture.
